Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL)

OSHA’s Permissible Exposure Limits. This exposure value means exactly the same thing as a TLV, except that it is enforceable by OSHA.  Expressed in parts of vapor per million parts. A PEL is usually given as a time-weighted average (TWA), although some are short-term exposure limits (STEL) or ceiling limits.
