Hot Work / Compressed Gas Safety Course: Protecting Your Workplace
Welcome to our comprehensive Hot Work / Compressed Gas Safety course, a vital training program designed to empower personnel with the knowledge and skills needed to perform fire watch duties effectively. Our course covers site evaluation, fire prevention, incipient fire fighting techniques, and monitoring during hot work activities, all in accordance with regulations 29 CFR –1915.508 (e)(1)(i-iv).
At the completion of this course, our student trainees will be well-prepared to handle various aspects of fire safety, including:
- Identifying the four elements of a fire and understanding the necessary steps to extinguish a fire
- Naming the different classes of fire as identified by the NFPA Fire Classification System
- Demonstrating skills for choosing and operating the correct type of portable fire extinguisher for different fire types, including dry chemical, CO2, and foam
- Conducting area inspections for fire prevention before commencing hot work
- Defining the terms “Intrinsically Safe” and “Explosion Proof”
- Understanding the principles of grounding and bonding
- Discussing the importance of a hot work permit
