Signal Word

There are only two signal words in GHS: “Danger” or “Warning”. They are used to emphasize chemical hazards and indicate the relative level of severity of the hazard. “Danger” indicates more severe hazards. Signal word is one integral part of a GHS label.

How to Find GHS Signal Words for A Chemical

You have to determine the hazard class and hazard category of a chemical first (mostly relying on test data). Once the classification of a chemical has been determined, standard signal word, hazard pictograms, hazard statements and precautionary statements will be assigned.
