Spreader & Equalizer Beams
Before using a lifting beam you must visually inspect the beam for damage.
- Check condition of attached hardware, slings, shackles
- Ensure hardware pins, links and other retaining devices are secure
- Check for Working Load Limit (WLL)
- Visually check the welds for cracks or splitting.
- Check beams for straightness. Any bends or deflections require the beam to be removed from service.
- Do not exceed the working load limit of the beam or attachment hardware.
- Do not shock load lifting beams.
- When using a spreader beam be sure to move slowly. Because of the force at the ends of the beam, moving too quickly may cause the beam to collapse.
