Turnbuckle Usage
- Do not shock load.
- All loads must be in line with the turnbuckle body.
- Secure turnbuckles to prevent unscrewing of the body or end components.
- Do not allow contact with any obstruction that may bend or damage the turnbuckle.
- End fitting threads must fully engage the threads in the turnbuckle body.
- Ensure pipe body threads are fully engaged.
- Always use a properly sized wrench when adjusting turnbuckles. Do not use pliers when adjusting a turnbuckle.
- If locking nuts are used they must be compatible with the turnbuckle end threads.
- Do not side load turnbuckles.
- Do not drag turnbuckles on an abrasive surface.
- All associated components, such as; cotter pins, bolts, pins, and/or nuts used with jaw ends must be suitable for use.
