This course is designed to bring a level of safety awareness to personnel engaged in operating a mobile crane. The course content covers safety concerns when crane operating, rigging, moving personnel, hand signals, inspecting, and selecting slings. The content for this course was taken in part from the current edition of the ASME B30.5 regulations and from the current edition of the API RP 2D regulations.

Course Objectives: In addition to rigger learning objectives, the delegate will develop a basic understanding of utilization of the following:

  • Load Charts and lifting capabilities
  • Proper lift planning
  • Crane pre-use monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections
  • Mechanical and non-mechanical cranes operations
  • Handling the load
  • Maintenance and lubrication
  • Limiting devices

NOTE: Successful completion of the course does not certify the delegate as a certified mobile operator. That distinction must be determined by the employer of the delegate.
