Driving in Fog

Fog is challenging when it is heavy and can cause just as many hazards as rain can. Many hazards are present and there are many tips that can protect you and allow safety.

SLOW DOWN:
With low visibility, there are many risks that can occur. Slick roads, cars without lights, and unexpected hazards blocking the road can cause serious injuries and with a slower speed you are able to catch these in the correct amount of time.

Turn your low beam lights on when dealing with fog, high beam lights tend to make the fog appear thicker and make visibility more difficult. Heavy fog can also mist your windshield that will heavily build if not noticed. Keep your defroster and wipers going, making sure there are no objects that object your view or the operation of the two mechanisms.

Now you can not control the weather, but you can be prepared and ready for any situation you are put in that causes poor visibility.
