Reversing

Reversing is one of the hardest things to accomplish while in a a larger vehicle because it is impossible to see the vehicles that are behind you. Here are some suggestions that would help when reversing/backing up:

  • Position your vehicle to back up on a straight line and not a curve, if possible.
  • If you must reverse on a curve, reverse towards the driver side for best possible vision.
  • Be sure the area behind you is clear of hazards. Use a spotter, if possible, to help back you into the designated area.
  • Be aware of restrictions like heights, size and weight limits that may restrict you from entering the space you need.
  • Position your vehicle to back up out of traffic. This means you should back into the driveway, so you then have easy access driving forward onto traffic.
