Written Medical Opinion

Employer shall obtain and furnish an employee with a copy of a written medical opinion from each examining or consulting physician which contains the following information:

  • The physician’s opinion whether the employee has any detected medical condition which would place employee at increased health risk from lead exposure.
  • Any recommended special protective measures to be provided to the employee, or limitations to be placed upon the employee’s exposure to lead.
  • Any recommended limitation upon the employee use of respirators use of respirators (positive or negative pressure)
  • The result of the blood lead determination.

The Employer Shall Instruct The Physician To:

  • Not to reveal either in written or in any other mean of communication with the employee finding, results, or diagnoses unrelated to an employee’s occupational exposure to lead.
  • Advise employee of any medical condition, occupational or non-occupational, which dictates further medical examination or treatment.
